Inaugural reflections by Yogacharini Anandhiji, Founder of Sannidhi
In a deeply moving inaugural address, Yogacharini Anandhiji, founder of Sannidhi, shared the heartfelt story behind the birth of this sacred space — a place dedicated to exploring Yoga as a living experience rather than merely a practice.
Anandhiji began by welcoming everyone with warmth and gratitude, describing their presence as both a blessing and a reminder of the sacred purpose guiding this new beginning. The very name Sannidhi, she explained, signifies a sacred space of presence — a sanctuary where seekers can gather to learn, reflect, and grow together, discovering Yoga as a way of being.
Her talk then turned personal, as she recounted her own journey of transformation. Years ago, she faced life-threatening health conditions for which modern medicine offered only temporary solutions — medication or surgery. Living in constant pain and uncertainty, she found herself at a crossroads. It was then that Yoga entered her life, offering not just physical relief but a deeper sense of peace and purpose.
As her healing unfolded, Anandhiji embarked on a quest that took her across continents — studying at some of the most respected yoga institutions and academic programs. Yet, despite all her learning, something remained incomplete. Beneath the achievements was a quiet void that intellect could not fill — a longing for something beyond words.
During the stillness of the COVID pandemic, destiny led her to Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani. His humour drew her in, but it was his depth, authenticity, and the way he lived Yoga that transformed her. Attending his online sessions, she soon became his student and now continues her journey as a Ph.D. scholar under his guidance in Yoga Therapy.
When she finally visited his ashram in Pondicherry and met Pujya Ammaji and Pujya Swamiji, Anandhiji experienced an overwhelming sense of homecoming — a deep belonging that words could not capture. In that moment, she realised that what she had sought through study and intellect was actually living connection: the grace of a true Guru and the sanctity of an unbroken Parampara.
From this realization, Sannidhi was born — as an offering of gratitude, a space for seekers to experience the same warmth, guidance, and presence that transformed her life.
“May Sannidhi,” she said, “be a space where everyone who walks in feels seen, guided, and connected — not just to Yoga as practice, but to Yoga as living presence.”
Anandhiji concluded by bowing in reverence to her Guru, to Pujya Ammaji and Pujya Swamiji, to the Parampara, and to all gathered for their blessings. She envisioned Sannidhi as a light, a refuge, and a sacred home for all who yearn to journey inward and awaken the divinity within.
